I’ve always had a soft spot for old kitchen tools—the kind you find tucked in baskets at antique malls or hanging on pegboards in dusty corners. Pastry cutters, spice jars, cookie molds… they’ve got stories baked into every scratch and swirl. I love cooking, and I love collecting, but sometimes I catch myself staring at these vintage treasures when I’m out junkin’ and I wonder, What could I do with that? Well, this season I went digging for ideas, and let me tell you—folks have gotten mighty creative and crafty. Here are some of my favorite upcycled Christmas decor inspirations using vintage kitchen gadgets. These vintage kitchen Christmas gadgets are charming, clever, and just the right mix of nostalgic and festive.
Please note these are NOT my images or creations. I found these on Pinterest but I could not find the original creators.
First up, we have this adorable potato masher decorated with a vintage snowman and tree. I remember my mom having a metal potato masher, but I don’t think it had a wooden handle like this one.

Next, I love this sweet little deer lying on top of a pastry cutter. You could even use this one as an ornament on your tree.

I saw a ton of these old spice containers the last time I was out browsing the antique mall. What to do with them? Use them as a platform for vintage Christmas figures.

Old measuring cups also make a cute scene for small vintage Christmas figures. It would be cute to do a whole row of these with various-sized cups and figures.

The next one is a perfect way to remember or honor a cookie baker in your life. This would look so special with handwritten recipes. If you don’t have handwritten recipes, vintage cookbooks are usually plentiful in antique stores. Just pull out some cookie recipes and add on some cookie cutters.

I love this decorated dough roller as a piece of cabinet decor.

Finally, this one might be my favorite. It doesn’t look quite as old as some of the others but I’m a sucker for decor that lights up! Here, we have a box grater with lights and festive decor added on.

I hope these inspire you as much as they do me! Tell me which one is your favorite in the comments or on the socials!
From the heart and from the holler,
Minda
